Mermaids get pregnant by mermen, and by the humans who are lucky enough to find one in human form.
Also in regards to Terry's response, dolphins are mammals too, and they are the only ones besides humans who have sex for pleasure.

These mermaids are really just thought forms, made in our history but in other areas of lain, conected not as mnemonic turn to cycle of life but as conscious depot. Atlanteans and egyptians developed these mermaids to help sexual activities in open sea and help some very young elementals into global consciousness, very much same way peruvians did creating the cuye or guinea pig.

Here is a VERY serious reply. After traveling the seven seas I can vouch that there is no such thing as Mermaids.
The subjects that people see and call "Mermaids" are impregnated by like subjects. Pops

Mermaids do have the normal sex organs as humans. (I know fish bottoms) But, if you look at some earlier pictures of mermaids, it's more of the legs down......

Think Porpoise. They were once land mammals that completely gave up their legs for the freedom of the seas. They are still mammals sexually.
