yes. She had an interview where someone was like "so what do you think about your new single Keep Holding On?" She flipped and was like "Um, like, Girlfriend is my new single... NOT Keep Holding ON... girlfriend is the sh&$!'...blah blah" okay, she is 20 something and writing stuff like "I am the mutha Fu$%in princess.." no respect for her.

Avril lavigne actually did use to be more unique. You are right. Even though i think it is a good song, she made herself sound like every other singer out there and she lost her uniqueness.

No, ya cant judge her by that song. I am a fan of Avril and youre right. Her first cds were full of meaning, but shes growing, and changing and has her own style. Dont give up on her. Im sure shes got more to come.*

uh hellooooooooo! she can do that now because she has a man and besides she is having fun. i really do not think that Avril is gone from the norm she is just giving everyone what they were begging for in the beginning, but no i have not lost any respect for her i miss the old her but true fans stick around, and move when she moves its all about trying new things and finding what are her likes and dislikes so it is way too soon to start ruling her out

Not really, she just grew up and reinvented herself like countless artist before her. Her life is very different than when she first started out. Avril just expanded her brand and broaden her audience base. She couldn't be be the same artist forever throughout her career, she wanted to grow and try new things and a new sound just like Madonna, Christina Aguilera, etc.

I don't like her new hair, but people change. I don't like one song on her new album and it is Girlfriend, the rest of the songs are pretty good. Her new album is worth buying.
She changed because she got married, before she got married she was sad, now she is so happy.

I agree. She is kind of showing herself off as a smut, and that is so not her. I do still have some respect for Avril, I just prefer her when she wasn't so smutty.

yeah i understand what your saying but i just think now that she is married i think that she has gone on to greener happier pastures for lack of better word usage but now i think she is happy and wants to express that in her music however, i did like that old avril but i guess she wanted to produce something that you could have fun with so that's what she did

i never liked her so i never had respect for in the first place. she's basically a sellout to her fans..she will never gain or get the respect from rock fans cause now she's even more pop then she was before..oh and that "punk" that she used to call herself that's not punk punk is having someone spitting or throwing pee in ur face while u perform and your songs have deep and meaningful messages
