It's true that if you apply pesticide to your yard, your moles will leave. You also won't have any earthworms or any other beneficial creatures.

I've had good luck with Shakeaway fox/bobcat urine powder. I sprinkle it in the holes, and the moles think there's something around that's going to eat them, so they leave.

Purchase a pesticide that kills grubs. Moles feed on grubs. If you remove the food source, the moles will leave.

Plant daffodil bulbs. They hate them. They love hosta, so if you have that, get rid of it. We didn't have a mole problem for years, then we removed out daffodils, and there they were! We put the daffodils back. they are in flower beds, but the moles are gone.
