I heard (from an airline employee) of a hotel near the PHL airport when you can park for free. Then they have a free shuttle to the airport. Does anyone know what hotel this is?

I doubt it. You're taking a big chance that your car gets towed. That airline employee might have gotten away with it but it certainly is not something the hotels do. If they did everyone would do it.
You can park in clean, safe, monitored off-site lots that provide drop off and pick up service for $8 per day.
You can also take public transportation directly to the airport. You can catch a SEPTA train from 30th street station, Suburban station, and Market East.

Maybe this guy was talking about parking at a hotel which was near one of those long-term parking facilities. Park at the hotel for free and essentially walk into their lot where you can take the shuttle to the airport. You may have to provide a tip to the person who arranged the shuttle ride for you - maybe slip them a $10 or $20 depending on how long you will be away. When you return, take the shuttle back to the lot and walk to the hotel. Believe me, the hotel will not tow your car as long as they don't care who's parking. Some hotels do ask for make/model and tag #.

Free, probably not and you wouldn't want to risk being towed. We just flew out of BWI in Baltimore, stayed at the Marriott at the airport and had to pay a nominal fee to leave the car for the week. We took their shuttle to and from. It was still cheaper than the long term parking. You need to ask at the hotel if they will do this.

try essington. get a hotel there that is close to or has an unattached resturaunt. If you park near the resturaunt no one will bother you. I believe there a re a few Hotels near the Philly 2 resturaunt. This is open 24 Hrs. It is only 5 min to the airport. You have to research the hotels. Essington is not big at all and the hotels are next to this resturaunt.

Well all the hotels like the Ramada & Holliday in Essington and the Hilton at Island Ave have shuttle service And parking. Now If they check if your a guest or not? Not sure.........

its not free but if you stay overnight you can park yor car and take the shuttle to the airport but you stll pay to park it is at the days inn at essington
