Nah, it's just their way of recognizing some of the people who get a lot of best answers.
I don't think the rest of us are bottom contributor's. Just top contributors in training.

not really. I had a " top contributor " at one time then stayed away for a period of time and the " rating " was removed. as far as I am concerned " no big deal " as it doesn't gain anything extra. although some may consider it as " a status symbol. "
