as soon as my maytag washer. as soon as it gets to the rinse cycle the motor stops spinning and begins to vibrate and starts to heat up. when i unplug and plug it back in, it starts to work again. any help?

sounds to me like there's strings from material, or build up of lint in there that's preventing it from spinning. Sure if it continues to try it will heat up and eventually burn out. See if you can see any strings in there. I'd call a maintenance person to fix it, and while they're looking at it they can oil it and clean all the gunk out. Then you'll have it working like a top for many years. Maytag washers are superb.

You may have a sock stuck in the extraction pump. Get all the water out. Turn it on it's side. Try to identify the pump. Disconnect the hose. You will see a sock or small article of clothing caught in the pump. Pull on it till it comes out. Reassemble, stand it back up. You're all set.
