Just ask anyone from Philly about the Eric Lindros/Rod Brind'amour situation and they will tell you about team infighting. It is too detailed and involves too many rumors that i am not sure are true so I wont go and print them here.
I do know that there was a serious physical fight in the lockerroom that surrounded it and shortly after Brind'amour went to Carolina.
I think it is pretty safe to say that fights in practice are more common than you may think and seem to be a natural part of so many different personalities and playing styles coming together.
Here is one example just in this past season:

It happens in training camp all the time. When Matthew Barnaby got to the Sabres' training camp, he kept challenging Rob Ray. Ray finally had enough, and the two had a spirited fight. When they were about done, Ray threw a little uppercut to teach him a lesson.
Important footnote: Ray and Barnaby are now best friends.
There are arguments among teammates quite often in the long season. It's a pressure-packed year, and tempers can boil over. Most incidents are forgotten quite quickly, though -- it's what professionals learn to do.

Not as bad today,,but in the 80's training camp was horrible for fights..I remember hearing stories of Wendell Clark fighing all the Vets. If you were a young "tough guy" back then, training camp was a way of making your mark.

It happens a lot and, as Zammy and Fedoruk pointed out, it's not always a bad thing.
I think Fedoruk's right. The Flyers need to recapture their badboy image. // Players like Ben Eager, Todd-himself and if Hatcher would stop playing grab-a-ss...... the rest will take care of itself.

I remember when keith Primeau was a rookie at camp and he threw down with Bob Probert. I can't find it on youtube, sorry.
Keith also fought McCallister in training:

Keith even fought his brother Wayne Primeau

It happens in training camp when the young bucks want to make a name for themselves, usually.

i know that jamie heward and alex semin got in a little scrum in practice (this was before heward was traded away to LA), heward hit semin "hard in the back" on the wall during a simulated game in practice, semin took exception to the hit and they did the push and shove deal before they were broken up.
