i am at uni gong into 3rd year and need a topic for my disertation but dunno what 2 choose. i am studying tourism business management so something tourismy would help. any ideas people.

How about tourism in Less Economically Developed countries? We did this in Geography and surprisingly there are many reasons why people still go on holiday to poorer countries such as Ghana. Or... you could investigate into a place where the location's economy just relies on tourism...e.g. I went to Capris (Italian island) last week and just thought that the island would be broke without tourists as there is no industry apart from tourism there. Just a few thoughts for you.

Why are you studying tourism? What attracted you to tourism? What annoys you about the tourism industry and how it is run? What would you do better? What do you admire about the tourism industry?
Answer these questions and then the idea for a dissertation may become clearer.

A study on sex tourism? For example, places like Thailand and Amsterdam get a lot of 'sex tourists', but it is a taboo subject so not a lot of people will write about it. It would make your dissertation stand out.

I hope you're not going to have to write your DISSERTATION in English. If you spell and use grammar the way you wrote your question, you're in a great deal of trouble. You will never be able to manage a business if you can't even manage to use a spell check.

What country are you in? In the U.S., it's spelled dissertation, and it's done in graduate school for a PhD not in third year of uni. If you have to get help from people on yahoo answers, you don't deserve a degree.

You will need some high caliber econometrics for this, but it could be interesting.

Study the role of portal internet booking systems that supply all the marketing and sales needs of the agent through one system versus the old booking methods.....
i.e. study the role of the internet in the business....
