ok first of all all these players r muscular and look like men, second of all 200 is how far i could hit it when i was 10 and these girls can barely do it when they r 20 cuz they r WOMEN trying to be MEN. Women cant be men they r not as talented or gifted. Also you idiot mlb is 60 feet and i doubbbbt its 42 feet im pretty sure its 48.

Softball is not just for girls. There are men's softball leagues too with them "cheering" each other on. Men tend to have a harder time with softball. Why is that? Because the pitching is closer. With the speed added, it is more difficult to hit a softball pitch.
As with any "athletic event," softball players are required to practice, exercise, practice, exercise, and then practice again. This would not be needed if it was not a sport.
I notice nobody says anything about Poker being shown on ESPN. Is this really a sport? It is a game of chance and mental skill. You can be 100 lbs or 500 lbs to play. No athletic ability required.
Think about that.....and try to complain without being so rude and uneducated.
I usually don't like how people answer the questions with rude comments, but this time may be appropriate. I take offense at the use of retards. Only ignorant people with no sensitivity or experience with people with disabilities would use this term.

These girls practice and play every bit as hard as the boys do, yet when their college career is over, they don't have the big pro contract waiting for them. They play for the love of the game. And you better get your eyes checked...these are elite athletes, few are what you would call "fat". And college softball isn't "always on"...right now is the WCWS, the one time that our sport gets national attention. And I'd like to see one of you couch jockeys hit a 70-mph fastpitch softball...MLB players have tried and only one or two were successful. Maybe you're jealous that these girls have more athletic ability in their little pinky than you have in your whole body. Get over it and get a life.

NO!!! Women's Softball may have some entertainment value for those fans of their college teams but for the most part it doesn't have the entertainment value the Stanley Cup Finals have. If you missed Game 5 last night...you missed a lot. That game had a lot of action and showed why NHL hockey is definitely the BEST in playoff action!!! Go Carolina!!! Jason

Me. Softball players are a very elite few. How many girls do you know who can hit a 280 yrd. home run against one of the top college pitchers in the nation? How many people do you know that can react to a 75 mph pitch coming from 42.5 feet away, that's equivilant to a baseball player reacting to a 112.3 mph pitch coming from 63.6 ft.

why does ESPN show dog shows, spelling bees ( i think), tractor pulls, volleyball,,anything like that. But what is terrifying is bet College Softball has a higher rating than Hockey!
And I bet you Americans think that showing curling on TV is bizarre. Think how we feel when we see a dog show!

i agree with you. it is always on. yes the pitchers are very hot too. some softball players at my school are very HOT though
