Reasoning is tgis; real boat is 22 meters long....one tenth of that will be 2.2 meters....one 20th would be half of that, or 1.1 meters, one half of thata would be 55 centimeters (which is 1 fortieth on 22 meters........)

I think you are looking for what size will the model be. If so the 1:40 is the scale. If the size of the real boat is 22 meters, than the model will be .55 meters. (22 / 40)

Length of model = 22 x 1 / 40 x 100 cm
= 2200 / 40 cm
= 220 / 4 cm
= 55 cm
