Vista recommends a minimum of 15 gigs of open hard drive space to load, and requires about 4.5 gigs of storage after it is loaded. If you are close on space, buy a new hard drive. They are pretty inexpensive these days. 40 gigs in todays computing is a very small drive.

dude i don't recomand vista. i say that becouse i play only games on my pc, for other thinghs vista is ok.
