My choices are Taj Majal in India, built by a Maharajah for his dead wife he loved so much ( it´s just remarkable how much a man can love a woman) and the Pyramids in Egypt. They are just amazing. Remarkable how they could be built and I´m sure they still are full of secrets that future archaeologists will found out some day I hope.Stonehenge in Great Britain is also great, full of mysteries still not found out by man. There are many more I´m sure.Often monuments from the ancient world.Nowadays such monuments are not built. One thing more, I just remembered the monument in memory of the people who died in the 9/11 disaster,it has such a calmness and tranquillity over it.

The Taj Mahal. In today's world of instant divorce it's great to realize that a man so loved his wife that he would spend all that money to build such a beautiful building to honor his wife and to impress his own country to such an extent they have kept it in pristine condition. I have never seen the Taj in person but it would be at the top of my list. I never tire of seeing pictures of the Taj. Its beauty cannot be outdone by any other monument in the world. There are a lot of monuments that are great too, but they cannot outdo the Taj.
How much this man must have loved this woman!!!

I am not too knowledgeable about monuments around the world, but in the US I would love to see Mt. Rushmore in person. It looks like it would be an awesome sight!!!!!

Arches National Monument in southern Utah. Nature-made and absolutely breathtaking! Canyonlands too!
Manmade: I would have to say the Lincoln Memorial. I am always awe-struck when by its side.
