they have drop down screens for doorways now. I saw them in one of my catalogs.

I don't know where you live Michael but here in Malta flies are a real pain in the butt, what we do is use a light curtain material usually white, (it's the kind of material they use for the middle part of heavy curtains to let in the light during the day) put some lead pieces small ones just to keep the curtain down straight and overlap it over the door way sides , that should do the trick, other wise use fly poison it works wonders and I know you could kill all the flies that touch it withen 2 minutes.I had to clear the bowl 4 times in one day.

I made one for our fishing cabin out of nylon net; Just thumb tack it to the top and one side of the door.
Let in overlap on both sides and at the bottom of the door.
Works for us;Nylon net at Wal Mart is 57 cents a yard and is 72 inches wide. For less than a dollar you have a screen door.

i don't know of a curtain but what i do is hang a zip lock bag full of water from the porch ceiling close to the door and that keeps them out of the house.just punch holes at the top of the bag to run string through.i use crocheing yarn but anything strong will do.i don't know why it works but it does.

Tha Bag of Water that Rita P. suggests will work.
I use it and have been told that it scares the flys because they think it is a spider web..Who knows??

that might work but you might want to try finding the source of the flies...like where the maggots are.....and kill all of them and so that way.....the flys will leave in about 1 day!
good luck!!!

i've seen them online at different places but I don't know how effective they work. I guess u could make u'r own w/ screening from u'r hardware store but i don't know how u would keep it close...velcro? magnets? u could u frame it up on a 1x2 & put it on a hanging slider..that may work
