The only way modern steel framed buildings will fall at free fall speed into its own footprint is a carefully planned and executed demolition.

There are a lot of books on this subject explaining the Physics and how all of the buildings were connected via a subway system. But you probably want someone to say something like: "It was an inside job, Bush had the CIA do it so that he could start a war. Bush blew up the towers and a plane was going to hit #7, but it didn't and that is when the bombs went off."

For those of us that don't believe in God, Santa Clause, or the Easter Bunny: The heat from the two towwers was so hot that it melted the steel and caused the buildings to collapse. The heat traveled from the subway and was in building #7 causeing its collapse. It has been stated that had the steal in the WTC been covered with asbestos, the WTC might still be standing including building #7. The real disgrace is the fact that the towers have not been rubuilt yet causing a lot of small businesses to suffer from the high rent of Manhattan.

Why is this even put into question form?...Are people really this stupid!...This country has lost its ability to use common sense!..I seen a documentary explaining how a fire wouldnt melt aluminum foil..so how did it melt the WTC beams!!!!..Jet fuel isnt like gasoline!...It burns at a much higher temp!...I'm an airctaft technician and have went to crash sites to remove the debris.

WTC7 was built straddling a Con-Edison substation. This meant that its walls had to carry a tremendous amount of force and were vulnerable to impact. In addition, WT7 contained numerous fuel tanks for generators, some holding 6000 gallons of fuel, & this contributed to its destruction.

The fall of WT1&2 produced a small earthquake that weakened WT7. More importantly, WTC7 was massively damaged by the large perimeter columns from WTC1. WTC1 was only 400 feet away but was over 1300 ft tall. As the columns peeled away, they hit WTC7.
25% of the WTC7 was scooped out of a hole that stretched up and down 10 stories.

In addition to the debris, at least 6 fires started in WTC7, each of which was described as “large” but there was no water to fight them. The fires were left to burn because the building started to lean and firefighters decided it was too dangerous to enter.

Everyone could see the east side slumping which was absolute proof of steel weakening from the fires, coupled with structural damage.

Then the east side collapsed and pulled the rest of the building with it.

According to NIST, who used seismic recorders & other techniques to measure the time, the exterior panels took 9-11 seconds. Free fall would have taken 8.5 seconds. The inner parts of WTC1&2 (roughly 60 stories of WTC 1 and 40 stories of WTC 2) stood 15 to 25 seconds after collapse initiation before they, too, began to collapse. To the untrained eye the collapse might have looked like a fall into its own footprint, but this is partly an illusion due to the height of WTC1&2. The cameras were huge distances from the collapsing buildings, further reducing your ability to see.

The “intellectual leader” of the 9-11 conspiracy theorists may be Steven E. Jones, from BYU (Brigham Young University). Jones’ department is physics and his research is in “cold fusion,” ironically a field that many physicists consider to be a waste of time. He seems to be drawn to oddball pursuits.
