good question. Our son does this but we make sure his line of sight is directed to hit a wall if he misses the target. We also have 2 huge tarpolines strung up well behind the target to catch any deflected arrows. The target is also set well below the top of the tarpolines. We also make sure he is never alone with it. If you are sensible and careful and take all precausions I dont' think there will be any problems of a legal nature to deal with. I think it is like airguns. Sensible useage is not a problem.

I don't think we have got that silly yet, but you will find yourself in trouble if it purts your neighbours in danger.
What would your reaction be be you were having a snooze and next doors arrow hit yoy in the eye?

provided you take all reasonable safety precautions and that none of your projectiles go beyond the boundary of your property (which if youre taking correct safety precautions including a suitable backstop) shouldnt happen its quite legal. I even do it myself with my 150lb pull crossbow on a regular basis

if you lived next door to me i would make it illegal! what if your a cr#p shot, wouldn't fancy an arrow coming over my fence!.
