I've had 3 extremely faint First response Early result pregnancy tests. The test lines are so light its hard to see them. Todays was a little bit easier to see. I'm 11DPO. I'm still clueless as to whether I'm actually PG or not. I have a ClearBlue Digital, is it too soon to take it? Will it show positive since the FRER tests have?

Home pregnancy tests only check hCG levels and the hormone hCG is produced in pregnancy, which is released in a pregnant woman's urine.

Urine tests use monoclonal antibodies to test for hCG. Most pregnancy sticks have two lines, one is a control line which you will see whether you are pregnant or not, the other line contains the monoclonal antibodies.

If there is hCG present in your urine, when it soaks the stick the hCG will react with the monoclonal antibodies, causing a color change that will make the second line appear.

any line change indicates a positive

Congratulations

Some tests are very sensitive and will detect even very low levels of hCG [FRER tests]
Home pregnancy tests available that have digital readouts that simply say 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'. These tests usually check for higher hCG. [ClearBlue Digital]

The hCG hormone starts to be released into the woman's blood stream soon after the baby implants into the lining of her uterus at about 8 to 12 days after conception. The hCG blood level will initially start off very low (5 IU/L), but then rapidly increase, doubling every 2 to 3 days, so that within a few days to a week or so the hCG level becomes high enough to be detected in the woman's urine, at about 50 to 80 IU/L. Once this level is achieved, a urine pregnancy test will show as being 'positive'.

If you suspect you are pregnant, you should see your doctor for a quantitative hCG blood test no matter what result you get from home pregnancy tests.

Good luck

The digital probably won't show a positive this early. The FRER is more sensitive than the CB digital.

You are pregnant. Pregnancy tests are only positive if you are making the hormone that your body only makes when you are pregnant. You are just very early so you aren't making a lot of it yet. I have only had two positive result in my entire life - their names are Sarah and Michael.

Don't waste any more $ on pregnancy tests. If you are not convinced -go to you doctor. But you ARE pregnant. Congratulations!

you should go to a doctor...if you are still not sure.. you are wasting your money on all the home tests and still unsure.. a doctor can tell you for sure.... and probably for a lot less money then you are spending on so many home tests.
