Most all the corys you see in pet shops are hardy and peaceful. It's rare to find delicate species of corys and those usually command a fairly high price. Feel comfortable in selecting any of the various colors and patterns you see for a fair price at your local store.

My favorite Corys are Pandas. Other ones I recommend are Bronze or Peppered Corys. All of these are tough little catfish. They can tolerate a wide range of water conditions and are very peaceful. However, they will not tolerate high ammonia or nitrites.

Peppered Corydoras (Catfish) are interesting and speckly.

There are also Panda Corydoras if you can find them.
