I don't know how good any of us are at being patient during trying times, but I think it is important to try to maintain our composure and develop a "wait and see" kind of attitude. Impatience only adds to the burden of stress, which can only make the original situation that much worse. Impatience can cause us to make decisions that we probably wouldn't make if we had taken time to think everything through. Of course, all of this is easier said than done, but I still think it is worthwhile to TRY to be patient, even during the most trying times. I believe I have come a long way in putting my own advice into use, but it can be extremely difficult depending on the situation.

I hope that you asked this question out of "curiosity" instead of need. I hope that all is well with you and that you are not having to deal with any of "life's toughest circumstance."

Take care and good luck.

Yes I think so as I had major cancer surgery in August of 1996 and endured a 7 1/2 hr operation and a week of standard chemotherapy. I had the elders of the church pray for me and anoint me with oil which increased my faith. I then had to go to Indiana University Medical Center to have 2 stem cell aumuous transplants and 2 rounds of high dose chemotherapy. I was put in the transplant ward at North 5 under heavy observation in an isolated room for 18 days in November of 1996 and 17 days in December of 1996. I was given a 40-50% chance of surviving. My faith in God stayed strong and I knew that I was going to make it but that I also had to be patient during this very tough circumstance in my life. Many prayers went to heaven on my behalf and on December 21st I was declared cancer free and have been in good health ever since and so thankful to God above.

Yes. Have been very patient with a divorce that has been taking place over 2 years and have not seen my kids for about that time because the courts are sitting on their hands allowing my ex-wife to leave state with them and not enforcing visitation rights.

Most of the time I am. Sometimes it's difficult though, especially accepting physical limitations.
