We ran out of Somalia with our tails between our legs and that led to Black Hawk Down. Now, here we are a decade later having to go back to fight terrorism again. We did not help a new democracy thrive there.
How is the Somalia situation any different? What makes you think we will not have the same problems in Iraq if we do not finish the job?

Unfortunately you're asking the wrong group--they don't understand the need to combat terroism, and they certainly don't believe they're cutting and running... They want negotiaitons, dialog, and diplomacy!

But Somalia can't pay back the US in the case of an Unilateral intervention occurence. So they will simply think that its not worth it, unless that they could use Somalia as a lever against another more important country...

we are not the police of the world. Bush leaves our borders and ports open for attack, sends all of our national guard soldiers and equipment over to the middle east (great respobe to katrina republicans!) and spends BILLIONS on a country that doesnt want us there.
