Do they just lose the race, or do you believe that they are not voted for because of their religion?

I believe that JFK was the only Catholic President, if I am not mistaken.

You're right. Only one Catholic was elected and he was killed. This is mainly a Protestant nation and there is some anti-Catholicism left. Besides, there hasn't been any viable Catholic candidates that have managed to obtain the nomination from each party. Giuliani is Catholic but he doesn't stand a chance. The Democratic Party has many Irish and Italians in their party, that is why they have much more Catholics in their party whereas the GOP is mainly Baptists or Protestants. Kerry was Catholic but he lost.

I think yo0 are right JFK was the only Catholic President. But we also have not had a Jewish, or Muslim, or Hindu President. I guess since this is "mostly" a "protestant" country we elect protestant Presidents. Racist or just who people are comfortable with, I am not sure, maybe a little of both. I think the Mormon running now, will not be able to carry the "South". I could be wrong. But loud mouth Al Sharpton and his comment was inline with the beliefs of many southern Christians. I think a conservative Catholic could get elected today, For SURE JFK was not a conservative Catholic.

Don't you know by now?

Jesus Christ is only best understood by non Catholic Christians (sorry I can't spell the pro word)

You see in the book of Revelation there is this big bad thing called the whore of Babylon.

Well the pro's protestants,( that will have to do) with all of their hearts and miss guided teachings firmly teach and beleive the whoreof Babylon is the Catholic church, so theres no way they are going to let the whore come into power.

The Christians are **** scared of the Beast, Antichrist, the false prophet and the whore of babylon

In fact they are so scared of Babylon they are in war with ancient Babylon now in Iraq.

The pros think they are so educated and they are so right, that they have become worse whores then the Cathoilc church, capatilism is the babylon and the false prophet is the leader that puts USA presidents into power.

So try and seperate church and state, you cannot. That's why most of your candidates call themselves Christian

Jahn Lennon wasn't a Christian but he was also shot for being a good man and stirring up too much strife.

LOve ya

Oh by the way I am a pro that speaks two way with Jesus

<> Actually, he becomes the first permanent president of the European COUNCIL. While the European Council is an element of the European Union, European Council members are relatively low-key positions. <> Again, European Council, a relatively low-key position (at least that's what wiki claims, and I don't put too much stock in wiki as "just anyone" can post articles there). As to whether or not his Catholicity will bring anything contructive to the European Council remains to be seen. <> Obama is liberal, that's for sure, but there is no evidence that he is an atheist.

"I believe that JFK was the only Catholic President, if I am not mistaken"

well, you are mistaken. Mr. John Hancook was a religios master. I believe he was a cross between budist and Poopaloas.

Hope This Helps!

JFK was Catholic and he was President of the United States. Therefore, your question doesn't make any sense!

All of the Kennedys are Catholic, and most all of
their family was involved in politics. It didn't seem
to matter then, and I don't know why it would now.
Same for MItt Romney..shouldn't matter that he is
a Mormon. However, I'm not sure I want a Muslim
as our leader. Obama needs to go over to Iraq
and Iran and run over there where they really,
really, need to have a leader who can lead them in
the right direction, instead of their killing fields.

Welcome to "Protestant Nation."

Although there is supposed to be a separation of church and state in this country, it appears thazt most of the past president were protestants.

BTW, Nixon was a Quaker. I think there was one other Quaker president.

John Hancock was the president of the Second Continental Congress, not of the United States of America.
