Ha ha ha that is the funniest two answers I could imagine the Kangaroo is not extinct in fact it is no where near endagered, The extinct animal is the Tasmanian Tiger which was a marsupial not a cat. It existed only on the island state of Tasmania is Australia the last one died in captivity in the 1930's. It's proper name is the Thylacine

A mythological (you are in Mythology) animal with a pouch to carry young, hunted to exstinion?
I know of one. Only he was not an animal, he carried a flute instead of a pouch (or maybe he carried the flute in the pouch), he lured children and not young and he was hunted in Hamelin and not Exstinion. He was the Pied Piper of Hamelin (LOL).
I think you mean the so called marsupial (Tasmanian) tiger.

tazzy tiger. It wasn't a cat. It was only called a tiger because it had stripes. It was a marsupial.
