Mercedes benz 96' s-4520 trunk refuses to close?
could this be a fuse problem?

The latch mechanizm rolled closed and needs to be opened again.

Duct Tape
If Mr. Knowitall's answer doesn't help try this method.
Your not getting any power to the automatic trunk latch that closes the deck lid or Trunk. Most like a blown fuse. The blown fuse is most likely caused by a poor connection or a shorted wire. (A power wire that is grounded.)
