Do you think that Andrew Speaker should be criminally charged for putting people at risk?

This a question that i think has been on all our minds. He was told in no uncertain terms not to fly back to the States but did all the same. It was 100% wrong. There is no doubt about it.

That being said, i don't know what i might of done. He said he was fearful that he would die being treated in Italy. He was truly convinced that the care would be so inferior that he stood a likely chance of dying. He has the most virulent strain of TB in existance and i can't imagine what i might do in that situation. I have not been in Andrews shoes & i don't know how out of my head i could get believing i would probably die if i stayed where i was on top of being married for a few days & having a child to care for.

I want to believe i'd consider everyone else's child, wife, mother, son & father and stay put & do as i was instructed but i have not had my life in danger & i cannot honestly answer this question.

I also want to ask everyone answering this question if they have ever driven with a blood alcohol level of .08 or over. That's one or one and a half drinks for most people.

I'm not sure this is a crime. It seems that it would be. I don't think, at this point, there would be any merit to a court trial. I think it brings the attention of infectious disease travel to us all but i don't think charging him would deter others from doing the same thing. I think if someone panics about another situation like this they'd do the same thing. If anyone becomes contaminated as a result of his travels he should be liable for the medical care of those people, the time lost from work and punitive compensation should be paid. Of course he probably wouldn't have the money the cover the illness of even one person. The whole thing is pretty sad.

Thank you for giving a forum to something most of the world has been pondering this week. Good work.

Once again, you're absolutely right. If this guy was an illegal immigrant, I can't even imagine the type of outrage from white America. Just like when that illegal drunk driver killed that white girl in NC. All I heard from white conservatives was "see, that's what illegals do in this country." Even Bill O'Reilly said those things on TV. Because Speaker is a rich, white a**hole with no regard for other people, he'll get off with a slap on the wrist. Plus, he's a lawyer so you know he's got connections with prominent judges.

Yes, but this whole case is kinda of funky now.
Is he father-in-law really an expert or some kind of hack? Why would he expose his family, this idiot's family to the TB by allowing the so-called wedding to proceed in Greece?
They go on ABC and proclaim their undying love for each other and showed the wedding pictures. Greece Authorities says they are not legally married since they could not produce the proper documents.

But this nitwit should be sued by all those people he exposed his disease to. Incubation period and discovery could take several months, and those other passengers risk exposing their love ones because of this twit's selfishness.

He has a laplop, I hope he is reading this, You Sir, are a World Class Jackass and your wife is a dumb ho'

yes, he should and his wife should be an accessory to the crime and her father should exiled. regardless if his doctor's told him he was contagious or not, regardless if his at the time father-in-law-to-be is a top notch TB specialist and said nothing to him or not, anyone with an ounce of common sense or basic history knowledge knows that TB is contagious and you should not fly in a plane that circulates/recycles the air in the cabin. i didn't know is not an ok answer or easy out in this situation. he potentially exposed a highly drug resistant strain of TB to hundreds and possibly thousands of people to selfishly get married/honeymoon in Europe. whether he knew it was highly resistant or not does not matter. being diagnosed with TB alone should have made him postpone whatever plans they had that involved traveling by whatever means and being in contact with a large amount of people until he was cured.

Yes, they recycle air-plane oxygen, and he seriously knew he had TB, so he put ALL the people on the plane at risk...

Yes he should then he should be injected with the AIDS virus so he can be worried like all those other people he came in contact with. Selfish Pr1ck that he is.

If he was lying about the doctors not advising him to avoid plane travel, then yes. Their records indicate that they did.
