well, the movie "it's about time" is really good about explaining the misconceptions of time. Time isn't necessaril;y related to the clock. That is mroe along the lines of mechanical time.
However, Time does not flow mechanincally according to einstein. Every person experiences time in a subjectively. Although einstein only formulated this based upon the physical speed of a moving object, time is subjective even to different beings in the same reference frame.
I sometimes will read a book or play a game and -if there isn't an active time piece to pull me into a certain time pace - it can feel like hours have passed, but it only turns out to have been minutes. I can read really really fast and It'll feel like forever. The reverse can also happen (feels short, but was long)
As long as you do not have an attachment to a different pace or understanding of time, you can experience it in your own way.
I took the clocks out of my room because they annoyed me and now it's like i'm in an isolated time bubble.
Time is indeed an illusion, because it is not absolute. The fact that the experience of time is subjective proves this.

Hi,
Time to me is EVERYTHING.
What was, what is and what will become.
Time is about mintues, hours, days, weeks, months, years wether these are past history, events now or future events to happen. Time is also linear and part of the fundamental structure of the universe, a dimension in which events occur in sequence, and time itself is something that can be measured.
time is part of the fundamental intellectual structure (together with space and number) within which we sequence events, quantify the duration of events and the intervals between them.
Time to me is sunrise, morning, mid-day, afternoon, evening, sunset, night and midnight.
Some religions class midnight 12am to be a powerfeul hour and even MORE powerful when time brings the moon to its full status.
Who invented us to use this great tool was very clever (amoungst others). Back in the past time was only used and counted by means of sundials or the shadow of where the sun lay upon the ground or how high it was in the sky. Same goes for the moon at night. These days we use time for many reasons, i use time to know when to get up for work, when its time to come home, when its mid-day or time to go to bed etc. It would be very interesting to see us all cope now if clocks of their many sorts were taken away and we had to result back to ancient times. It would be interesting.

Try this:
Push an umbrella, it might move slightly. Oh, you put it in an area of space where time existed, well time had to be there for it to move!
Time is events that inflicts (no not unpleasant) movement (I meant disturbs more than inflicts).
The person is pushed and the umbrella is pushed via time. Time never moves via humans as if it did, the universe would be in a dimensional mess wrapped around itself.
The clock is a meter, developed around the 23.59 hour clock.
Hahaha! They say I have nothing to know about time, I am in it, of course I know.

Well, I'll answer philosophically and scientifically.
Philosophically, time is passing events from a certain perspective. History is a measure of time told through events, mostly wars and signifigant changes in cultures or regions.
To humankind, time is determined by day and night. The Lord, or evolution whetever your preference, has made us to be active in daylight and reactive at nightfall. Time, to me anyways, is our interpretation of finality. I think we as humans, need an end, or we have no reason to live, or plan, or value the time we have, because death is inevidable.
Scientifically, time is relevant to motion, resistance, and form. Things that move fast do not age as quick, it's energy doesn't allow it to happen as fast. Like muscles and our own bodies, an active person looks, feels, and/or appears younger. An inactive person, looks, appears, and shows age.
However, if too much energy is generated, emitted, or required, then time will run short, black holes, supernovas, and heart attacks.
To mix them both time is limited to perspective, moderation, and interpretation.

Clocks and Calenders only measure the passage of Time and passage is the key term, because Time is a journey we all travel, just as we do through space!

clocks are just tools to measure time the same way scales measure weight. I am sure that there is some way to see time, but other than just the effects of it I don't know.

People get all flaky and cosmic about time but the way I see the sun would rise and set and the days would progress and the seasons would change whether or not I had on my Timex.
