Do as you're told next time!

If this is the situation you are in, get help. Don't let the shame or fear paralyze you into staying because you deserve better than that.

You need to report the incidences, start the paper trail. Talk to any friends or family you have in the area about the situation and get your support group behind you. If you decide to leave (and I hope you will) they will be the ones to help you do that, give you a place to stay, etc.

Whatever you do, don't believe for an instant that you are somehow weak or pathetic. Anyone could find themselves in a bad situation, it is how you handle it that defines who you are. You can overcome this.

If she really beats you up or has beaten you up it's spousal abuse.Personally I would call it in and let her spend the weekend in the pokey, but your out of luck if she has one mark on her, because then your both going.Men do get beat up by their wives, and I really think it should be reported, because a crazy woman that beats a man may not just stop at using you for a punching bag.

Some of the responses here are disgraceful.
I wonder would they be reacting the same way if a husband was beating his wife.

Male victims of domestic abuse are very common:
http://www.gov.ie/crimecouncil/documents/Abuse_Report_NCC.pdf
This is a government document.
The statistics are for Ireland.
15% of women and 6% of men suffer severe domestic abuse
29% of women and 26% of men suffer domestic abuse when severe and minor abuse are combined
13% of women and 13% of men suffer physical abuse
29% of women (1 in 3) and only 5% of men (1 in 20) report the crime

Unfortunately, if you are in the United States, VAWA is going to make it very hard to solve the problem since you are a male victim and shelters for male victims are almost non-existant.

The only advice I can give you is that you need to get out of the house and report the crime to law enforcement.

Here is a website entirely aimed at male victims of domestic abuse:

Don't tolerate anyone abusing you. Stand up for yourself. Next time she hits you slap her so hard you make her fall. With a very aggressive tone in your voice tell her. I am sick and tired of the way you disrespect me. From now on you are going to respect me, even if I have to force you to. The nonsense that I have put up with is gone. I sent the wimp home this is the mean bas** That will kick your a** if you dare hit him. You do this I guarantee she won't do it again. I'm telling you it works. Just think of the way she has mistreated you. That should be more then enough. You showed her your good side. Now it's time to show her your bad side. And don't say you don't have one. We all do. We just have it under control. Let the mean in you out, scare her. Let her know who is going to wear the pants from now on.

Ignore the dumb@$$ here. Go to a Police Station and file charges. Fight back in self-defense if needed.

Just make sure it is a fair fight and she does not hurt you in the groin. Make rules to protect your self in advance, and then fight like a man.

Do what I do. I start to get up about 10 seconds before she does. This way I am on my feet and up before she is.
