it could be the pump which in that case you need to call for a tech do not put your hand anywhere near the pump. that was a crazy suggestion cause you could get hurt. first though you need to see if its stopped some where else. and that can be easily answered if your unit is connected to a garbage disposal that may be clogged you would need to un clog it if its not then you should call for service if your still with in the first year you will be covered by the manufactuer. or you can call Lowes Service Advantage for more troubleshooting phone number is 1-888-77lowes or 1-888-775-6937. hope that helps

This may sound strange to you but this has happened in my house until I found the right serviceman. All he did, after checking the pump was put a close pin where the drain hose is located on the pipe to create and air vacuum. Walla fixed. Of course you should check the pump to make sure there is nothing stuck in there. Good Luck, also house&garden have a series of home care books that are realatively inexspensive.

There is an internal , electrically controlled valve that diverts the wash water to the drain line at the right times in the wash cycles. The valve is stuck -- or more likely -- the electrical portion is burned out. If you are up to it there is info on-line to help you do the repair. Your local appliance repair parts store -- that can supply the new valve assembly -- may offer free advice too. Otherwise, shop around for an honest repair shop.

If your kitchen sink is attached to it, and the sink isn't stopped up, then it is the little pipe between the two. You can try a plumbers snake, a plunger inside the sink closest to the dishwasher, clean out your dishwasher and run a load on hot with vinegar.

The pump may be shot. Remove the front lower panel and add some water to the inside of the unit. Turn the control so it will kick in the pump. You may be able to reach it with your hand to feel if it is working or maybe just hear it. Check the drain hose also as it may be clogged.

the problem is more likely in the return line which is normally hooked up to your garbage disposal.
Make sure that line is clear.
