Why does everyone picks on my grammar? Usually, I never check my grammar while typing online, most people never check their grammar when they are online unless they are writing their english essays or for academics. Picking on people's grammar is just a low blow. It just shows that they don't care and wants to find anything just to pick on them. If they say anything about the grammar, then name the grammar mistake. for example, "I are live in United States.", the Yahoo answerers if they want to say something about grammar, They should say "It is suppose to be 'I live in the United States.'" I like swear, just knowing what they are talking about is fair enough. Even the highest educated people (English teachers, professors, doctors and other) make grammar mistakes still. There is no perfect academic paper. It is quite rare to even find one. In your English class, have you ever got a 100%? Usually, no one gets perfect in their English essays.

So who is to say about my grammar if your english isn't perfect? If you think that way, like grammar make you look bad, that means over 90% of the population look bad since they can't get perfect papers in their english. Have you noticed that your english teachers correct your essays?

For those who think having bad grammar will effect on making friends, it doesn't. I have lots of friends still and can make more. Yes, it is important for jobs or college but outside college, it shouldn't be that important.

By the way, you made several errors in your post...just sayin'. I love being a troublemaker.

And for the record, I have gotten 100 percent on English essays. Not all the time, but there were a few that did make it. Most were 95 or above. A rare few were in the low 90s or even as low as 87-88.

Now, go read your post. Play a game called "Spot the error".

EDIT:

Pssh. And I thought I was anal retentive about grammar. I'm paid to write and edit and I am nowhere near this uptight. Good grief.

The English language has rules. Like it or not, most people depend on them whether for schooling, their jobs, or simply to communicate clearly with others. As with everything else in life, things go smoother when the rules are obeyed. The same applies to writing in English. If that doesn't register, then I will appeal to your pride. Do you honestly want to appear ignorant for all the world to see? Notice I didn't say you are ignorant; you just write like you are. You sound like you're in the middle of a pity party. Well, take off your diaper, grow up a bit, and begin to care about how you write. Your writing is you translated into words.

Because seeing English butchered by a native speaker is painful. The little things are fine to let slide, I'm just talking about the huge, repeating grammatical errors. (Sometimes, it does cause trouble understanding)

why are you posting this question so many times. I have read your question now under at least tree different headlines. This has got to be question abuse or something. Really this isn't that big a deal.. ACCEPT YOURSELF AND WHO YOU ARE and don't so much about what other people think about your grammar. sheesh !!!!!

it just makes you appear more educated if you speak and write properly as well as much easier to understand; although most people just enjoy correcting other folks perhaps in order to try and fulfill their need to feel superior to others to whom more often than not they are not superior to in the first place
