only in caps if you refer to a particular elementary school, or special high school, for example: A. D. Eisenhower Senior High School.

If the noun is proper, yes. If the noun is common, no.
If you are going to mention an elementary school, it is not right to capitalize it. But, if you are going to mention a specific school, like Lincoln Elementary, then you would capitalize the name.

If you are talking about Winfred High School or Sweetwater Elementary School, then yes. But if you simply want to say, "I took trigonometry in high school" you do not need the caps.

Yes, if it is part of the proper noun, for example
Smith High School or Smith Elementary School.
If not, for example in writing a report, just write, "Five books were donated to Smith high school."
That's just my opinion.
