Dodge City, Kansas
Circa 1876

It was a beautiful morning......birds singing, blue, cloudless sky , wind blowing through the willow trees, and the smell of bacon frying....Yep. Life was good. Marshal Matt Dillon stretched his long arms and legs and smiled. Ever since he had broken off his relationship with Miss Kitty and had hooked up with Sunshine MacGillicutty, life had gone from black and white to COLOR. He had never been as happy as he was now. He fluffed up his pillow and rolled over in bed.
Sunshine:" (5.) Hey Good Lookin.....Wanna hear (4.) The Riddle of the day?" He smiled as he moved over and made room for her and a breakfast tray.
Matt:"Sure. I'm game....shoot Luke." He buttered a piece of toast as he listened.
Sunshine:" Well, if birds flew underwater, if a dollar bill was a dime . Boy wouldn’t things be crazy but maybe then you’d come around some time .
If steamships flew the skyways, and honey wasn’t made by the bee
If black was blue, if I was you,.........What would I do, Matt? Finish the riddle."
Matt:" (6.) I'd Come Back to Me?"
Sunshine:" VERY good, sweetie!!"

Matt spent a leisurely morning reading the paper. No....That isn't entirely true. Matt TRIED to read the paper. He couldn't seem to get past the front page.........Sunshine was feeling frisky and .......well........you know what THAT means!
He finally threw the paper in the air, grabbed his Sunny Girl and proceeded to be her Cowboy Dream Come True!!!
After about an hour......
"Oh, MattBaby !
(3)You Didn't Have to be SOOOOOOO Nice. Dear GAWD!!
You are REALLY my hammer, you know."
Matt smiled......"Your HAMMER?!"
Sunshine:"Baby......You nail me every time."
Matt smiled proudly :

They decided to take a walk down by the lake before Matt rode off to his job in Dodge. He loved these moments with her.Enjoying Mother Nature and enjoying each other.
There were no fights to break up, no crooks to haul off to jail and most of all......no Miss Kitty hanging on to him. Kitty was coming undown.....Drinking too much and refusing to let go of the past.
She never knew how difficult it was for him to see her like this.

Sunshine:" You know......in (2)A Million Years or so, all of this will be gone. I wonder where we'll be." Matt pulled her close to himself. He kissed her gently.
Matt: " We'll be (1)Walkin in the Sunshine, sweetheart....just as we are now."

It seems like a million years or so ago, but I was walking in the sunshine singing a little sunshine song. I met a man who I thought was the best looking man I had ever seen. I bumped in to him, fell and twisted my ankle and he helped me up and to a park bench. He got an ice pack for my injury and i said, "you didn't have to be so nice." He said it was the least he could as he felt he cause my injury by not paying attention to where he was going. He said he was trying to figure out a riddle and had let his mind wonder. I asked what the riddle was and he said the riddle was how to get my phone number.

I was excited at the prospect of him wanting to call me and gave the number to him. We spoke on the phone many times and met for dates over a several year period. Then he was offered a job that required a lot of traveling but the pay was far beyond what he could have imagined at that time. He asked what I thought and I told him if I were in his position I would take the job but on the weekends I'd come back to me.

He took the job and on his first weekend home I went to the airport to pick him up. He saw me first and said Hey good lookin.

That was 28 years ago and we are still together.

That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

See if you can figure out The Riddle. A Million Years or so, I'm doin' my own thing. Not minding anyone. You know, Just walkin' in the Sunshine of Yahoo answers! All of a sudden, I get an e-mail "Hey Good Lookin'!" I pull it up to see an old friend. I had spoke to this Gentleman, earlier. He had sent me kind words about what kind of a person I had been. Been with my tributes to Our Military. He asked to give me some other Tributes, that he's picked up On-Line. And one was for a Red Skelton Recording. That I had not heard, in a long time. Tears flowed, as I heard it . And I remarked to my Friend, that it was so nice of him to send it to me. "Hey, Sarge! You didn't have to be so nice". Was the general tone of the e-mail. I had told him that I hadn't heard that, in so long. And how remarkable it fits today's society. But I was so glad that he had sent it to me. No matter who we think we wanna be? I always knew I'd come back to me!

I know some of these songs, but I am so young, they aren't on my list of regular tunes I listen to. Thanks Sarge, for the memories, but I think I would rather listen to Elvis! LOL! I loved that man!

By the way, "Hey Good Lookin", is my favorite. It reminds me of me! Ha Ha!
