I have had 4 pregnancies, 3 single births and a twins birth. Each time I felt very uncomfortable through out the day. I had a lot of pressure real low in my stomach and pelvic area. My back ached more than normal and I was having contractions, mild but noticable. I always went into labor in the evenings and had my babies in the wee hours of morning. My first was born at 1:11 am, my second at 3:13 am, my third at 5: 49 and my twins at 2:10 and 2:15 am.
You will likely start to feel uncomfortable during the day and then wake up in some sort of labor. But dont worry most labors take many hours and when the hardcore pain starts you will be laying in a hospital bed ready for your epidural :)

For some reason, it's more common for women to go into labor at night or in the wee hours of the morning, so many mothers are woken up by contractions.

With my 2nd baby labor started at 10 pm. With my 3rd baby labor started at 3 am.

So it always ends up that no one gets much sleep!

The pains woke me up at about 8 a.m. I knew my baby was coming out. They got worse and worse till I was scream'n out the door. But the birth certificate says 12:29a.m. (right after midnight) Stay at home in the comfort of your own home, till you can not stand it, or dont want to stand it and i bet you as soon as you get there, they will check you, freak out, and yell for help cause you will be ready! Be careful though, do what your body tells you to do. I'm just speaking from my own personal experience.

Anything can happened. Pregnancy, labour and child birth are very personal to each individual, even the doctor can't give firm advice.

Labor starts out slowly...contractions that gradually get more uncomfy to painful.

Both of my labors started in the daytime, and the kids were born the next night or the next morning.

i think it is more common at night b/c it is when your body isn't focusing on much and figures it is a good time to have the baby.
