My doctor is very knowlegeable and friendly with a great reputation, but on average I bet he's in the room about 3 to 5 minutes. Maybe this is because I've had an easygoing pregnancy and I have not had many questions for him. How long is your doctor in the room?

15 minutes. I worked for a dr's office and that is all the time they are alotted for each apt. They are actually encouraged to get out of there in less time then that to keep on schedule, and to leave room for emergencies. I know it sounds horrible. my obgyn was in the room for as long as i could engage him in conversation all the while sneaking questions in here and there. He too was the best in the buisness and I just had to figure out what kept him talking.

It depends. He has stayed in the room with us before for about a 10 minute period.. If he comes in and there is a question I have to ask he is very understanding and explains everything in detail. The shortest he has been in the room was about 5 minutes, but that was when I came in for a followup appointment.. If you have had an easy going pregnancy then dont expect to spend to much time with the doctor.. Best of Luck and Congratulations....

After the first couple appointments where you have lab work and sono's the average visit takes about 10 minutes. They usually listen to the babys heart beat, check your urine for protein, measure your uterus, and check you for swelling, and blood pressure.
I had midwifes with all four of my pregnancies and all except for my twins thats how it went. When you get further along your visits may last a little longer. But just the regular prenatal check up is not very long.

With the record i presumed i replaced into gonna use, I called whilst i replaced into 4 weeks pregnant and that they informed me to make an appt for whilst i replaced into 12 weeks! I did and then had to call returned because of the fact of a few bleeding approximately 2 weeks later. The record informed me i replaced into probable miscarrying and that i shouldn't are available until i began out to cramp or bypass vast clots. i replaced into no longer happy. So I called yet another place of work. They observed me for the bleeding that day and scheduled my first actual appointment at 7 weeks. Then a sonogram at 8 weeks. They have been and are so attentive, i'm happy I switched.

I have had two pregnancies and with different OBs and that is normal. I had some in there for less then 3 minutes. If he has a good reputation then if something is wrong you will get more then the three minutes. Good Luck!

If you have questions, the visits are usually longer than 5 minutes. If you and the DR are not concern with anything, they'll do what they gotta do to you and it's done. With me it usually take about 5 minutes or more because i usually have questions for him.

My doc stayed with me until I said I was good to go. He gaves me books, and did all the testing stuff himself (measuring, ultrasounds, heart beat). I saw him every week from 22 weeks on. He told me what to expect, gave me diet guides, exercise guides and because I had complications, did all the follow up. He was even in the hospital with me for the last 6 hours of labour BEFORE my c-section. He called every hour before he came (I was in labor 16 hours before he should up!!! but he called every hour to get my update. He ate with us and hung out with us!! He came back 6 times in the 3 days that I was in the hosptial and checked with us by phone every 5-6 hours. I saw him at least 10 times after I had baby and he called me at home twice!! He was the greatest ever!!!

About 5 minutes for me, too. I have a midwife.

She listens to the heartbeat, measures my tummy and then talks about how I'm doing and answers any questions I have.

im almost 31 weeks. and usually im in there 30-45 minutes on average. longer if something is wrong - ive had a few uti's. and its also longer if im getting my bloods done as i have tiny deep veins so its difficult for the dr to find a vein and get the needle in.
