It depends on the test, but there are tests that can work up to 5 days before your missed period. Go to peeonastick.com for lots of hpt info. I just tested ++ a couple of days ago, my period is due June 5th and that was with first response brand. Hope this helps, the website was helpful for me. As far as I know blood tests will not be wrong. As for symptoms, I think everyone is different, but yes I think you can have some symptoms at three weeks, I already have 3 kids and I experienced symptoms at different times with all of them.

A blood test can be inconclusive your blood has to be above a 15 to be a confirmed pregnancy. I blood tested 8 days after conception and there was hcg but it was only a 9 or 10 so they said yes you have HCG but we have to make sure it goes up. I re-tested a few days later one time it did not go up and I had a period but this time it went up and I'm now 14 weeks! Sometimes it will drop anything below a 5 is consider not-preg. So you see it can be tricky a 9 could go either way! Sometime conception takes place but for some reason the fertilized egg does not implant. That they call a chemical preg. At three weeks (really only 1 week from conception) you probably won't have any symptoms that early. So there is still a wait even with blood work it takes time for things to pick up! Good luck I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Oh yeah you can test in about another 7 days with a home preg. test.

a blood test will read 7-12 days are conception and a urine test is best a few days after the expected period.
most places wont do a blood test til your period is late but ask your doctor he will tell you if it would read or not. if its negative chances are you arent pregnant. and you wont have any signs at three weeks since thats only a week after conception implantation has just occurred at three weeks

A blood test can detect elevated HCG in just eight days. I do not think you will feel any different before your LMP.

it could be. But most likely you will get an accurate test result early.
