If i were to try to build a replica of the black pearl fromPOTC would disney have any reason to sew me?

They can not sue you unless you either try to make a profit from it, or you claim it to be your own idea.

If anyone wants to sew you it won't have to do with replicating the "Black Pearl", they'll need a large needle and some thread. How can you spell replica, and reason but you can't spell "sue". The ship itself is a basic design for a sailing ship of the era. The only thing that makes it the "Black Pearl" is the fact that it's been called that. They don't have a trademark on the ship, as the design is a common one, but the name belongs to Disney and they could very well press the legal issue in that regard.

I don't think they can sue you unless you put your own Black Pearl in a movie and try to pass it off as your idea. Just a head's up, though: the Black Pearl, if you're going to make one the size of the one in the movie, would cost millions of dollars to replicate.
