My friend and I want to go to the mall by ourselves but my mom says, "Well if you want to go to the mall then we are ALL going but we won't follow you around." My friend and I are both thirteen. My friend has a cell phone, and the mall is about five minutes away! I can't stand my mom! And it's not just because of this, IT IS ALL OF THE TIME! We don't live in a so-called bad area either, and the mall isn't that big. Don't say, "Just listen to your mother," or, "It depends on how responsible you are." Would YOU let your thirteen year old daughter and her friend go to the mall by themselves?

My friend's mom is in New Jersey...that is where she lives. She came down here to Virginia with her grandmother to see me. So we can't tell her that my friend's mom is there.

There are A LOT of guards at the mall walking around...and A LOT of police, so it's not like someone could just snatch us up without being noticed.

you need to be older to do this, let your mom go if she won't follow you, I went with my grandsons when they were your age and followed at a discrete distance. they were glad to be there and l was near in case needed. your mom is only looking out for you. you will understand when you're a mom, l know this isn't what you want to hear.

I didn't get to go to the mall by myself until I was 15.
And I still told my mom that my friend's mom would be there so she wouldn't freak out.

i wouldn't let you go to the mall by yourself if you were 13, especially since you are a girl! its not you that your mom is worried about. its the rest of the world. it's some sex crazed old man that wants to snatch you up for his own personal use that freaks your mom out. don't get so worked up about it, its not like your mom doesn't trust you, she just wants to make sure you stay safe.

well. yes i would. but only if she was responsible ( wich i think u are ) and had a cell phone. and alot of friends with her at the mall. so it would be most likely for her and her friends to not be in danger
