I was a contraction machine (10-15 an hour was not at all unusual) with my first pregnancy, and went into labor (totally painless, btw) at 31 weeks.
I've been noticing periodic contractions this time around since about 10 weeks -- but nothing serious until the last several days. Now, at 19 weeks, it's about 4-6 an hour for at least part of the day. They're not painful or terribly uncomfortable, just a little disconcerting. I don't know if I should call my doctor, or just ride it out two more days until my next appointment on Monday.
What's your advice?
(I'm drinking lots of water and resting as much as possible with a nearly-3-year-old home with me all day.)

With my last pregnancy I got a lot of Braxton-Hicks contractions starting at 19 weeks gestation. This continued until I went into labor at 38 weeks, so it sounds like what you are experiencing is very normal.

As long as they are not painful and there is no bleeding, I wouldn't worry.

Braxton Hicks At 19 Weeks

I was having horrible cramping at 6 weeks until 11 weeks. Felt just as bad as contractions, I had bleeding, it was just awful!! Now that I am 14 weeks I am starting to feel the tightning in my stomach, I don't know if you can get braxton hicks contractions this early on, but my doctor said it is very likely that because my pregnancies are so close together that I will probably have quite a few of them (I guess my uterus is still traumatized from the my daughter, she beat the heck outta me!!) I did have BH contractions with my daughter, and what you are getting is exactly what I had. Make sure you are well hydrated and it will help eliminate them (or make them less uncomfortable!!)

It wouldnt hurt to go ahead and phone your doctor to put your mind at ease. If they arent painful and increasing in frequency I wouldnt worry to much.

It might be nothing to worry about but if you are concerned rather call your midwife or caregiver....
