That is sad. I grew up in a home where no dreams or hope existed. So, when I had my family, I do try and strive to hope and dream for them even if they don't feel like it at the time. I hope my children never write this. It makes me cry for you. Nevertheless, you can't cry over spilled milk. The way you get them back is to go and do it yourself and NEVER credit them for anything. Always credit someone else, like yourself or a life partner or a friend or a mentor, and it drives them crazy. But be prepared to have to wait until you do make something of yourself. So, it will take a lot of time and patience to wait on it. And by the way, don't support them, they are dead inside, so why waste your energy on something dead. TAke it for what it's worth and MOVE ON. I wish I would have done that in my early 20's and not cared what my family thought or how many years I spent wanting approval. It's a waste of so much.. Love ya kid, and good luck. I hope all your dreams come true and many blessings come to your doorstep.

No my family was not supportive of dreams. They where realistic. My parents when I was younger did not even believe in beauty school or careers in fashion. Basically any type of job that had to do with the business world on Monday thru Friday 8 to 5 shift was a real job, but anything else that was not that type of job was not a real job. Now that I am in my 30's and I have worked in the fashion world my mom has changed her opinion on some things since she has seen I can make just as much money working in the beauty and fashion world that you can in the business world of monday thru friday 8 to 5 type jobs. Plus she has seen what I have paid at beauty salons and it's not no great clips or supercuts price. But I don't care what my family thinks anymore cause I have a supportive husband who supports me and is proud of me all the time.

1st. of all I like to thank you for being open with your question.
We'll if you feel that your parents are not supporting your dreams, then don't worry about all of that, you have to do what you think and feel is right, so don't go looking for other people approval, cause sometimes even our own family can be jealous of our dreams and the dreams that we accomplish, so let this be words of encouragement to you.
God bless you!
