Your local lawn and garden shop or possibly the insecticide aisle at the grocery store has 'ant baits' that you set out and allow the ants to enter, take poisoned food back to the nest and eventually poison the queen. You need to find out where they are nesting. Poisoning the existing adults does not address the problem of eggs that haven't hatched yet and most exterminator companies use this knowledge to establish a subscription service. They'll come back 1-2 times a month because they know the next generation will hatch in about 10 days.

Very easily and it works!!!!
Spary them with raid and it will kill them.
Clean up the mess when you are done.
If you ever see even on single ant spay it and spary the whole area again.
A few days later spray it again and the ants will get the hint to stay out of that area.
The only problem is, they will find a new area to go to.
If they do just repeat the steps above.
I use to have this proble in my complex, but for the last 2 years I have not seen 1 single ant.

I've been having the same problem.
Most usually I'll try at at-home solution before I go to the store to buy a store-bought one, because I like to do things "naturally" and "inexpensive".
I tried putting vinegar in a squirt bottle and killing the ants that way,(it worked, it killed the ants) but more ants came out to eat the corpses of their dead buddies. (maybe they like pickled ants?) lol
I just try to keep the house as clean as possible. (even when it's super clean, the ants still come in)
So, I use some bug spray that I bought at the store. It works really well, but it stinks.
I hope you can find an at-home remedy that works well, because that store-bought bug spray really smells bad! YICK!
Cheers

Spend a little more time cleaning up after yourself. and a real good, no pesticide method is the common clove. Ants just hate them and they are very inexpensive in the market. They also smell good vs the pesticide smell. put them around liberally where they are entering the house both inside and outside. It really works give it a try.

It depends what type they are. If they are "sweet ants" you can buy a bottle of (who knows) and they will carry it back to their nest and die. If they are carpenter ants you will need an exterminator then someone to inspect to see how much damage has been done to your house.

first: try to see where the ants are coming from, then: block them w/ ducktape or any household object, that will keep them out
also, if that doesn't work: call an exterminator or try to make friends w/ the ants, who knows maybe you'll like them.

Ever heard of ant poison? If you don't know where to buy it ask another question, coz it's my mum who buys it and I don't know where. If you can't get that smear you neighbour's house with jam. That'll teach 'em for buying that new car.

vinegar works really well. if you spray the perimeter of where they are coming in. you can spray inside and out side. worked for me last year. now this year, i only have stragglers!
