Are there any specific signs that the water pump is going out? I had th serpentine belt changed days ago and and now the low coolant light is coming on. I have to fill it up about every day and a half and am not sure if it is a hose or the pump. And it doesnt leak all the time. Usually after its not been driven for4-6 hours, then its a decent drip. Any idea whats going on? Also, the engine has about 133,000 miles on it.

pressurize the system, you will see the leak, it will spray out .

Take off the rad cap and spray compressed air into it, hold a rag over it.

Sounds like a leak ...LOL

Usualy if it's a waterpump bearing seal that's going out, it will allways leak. Not just some times. Running or not.

I'm leaning toward a head gasket seeping. As the engine cools down, the metal in the heads contracts, or shrinks a little and alows the coolant to squeeze between the engine block and head gasket.

You may get lucky and find a simple hose clamp that needs to be tightened a little too.

Take some time and crawl under it with a flat tipped screwdriver and check the hose clamps.....

feel the water pump with your hands. do it when the engine is cold as to not burn your self. if the water pump is wet then that's whats leaking and you need to replace it. do the same with the hose. i bet though that if it was the hose your car would over heat instantly as that what usually happens when a hose goes.
