Why do liberals like Rosie O'Donnell want to ban guns?

Doesn't she realize there will always be a way to get weapons? If people dont have guns they will just gouge your eyes out with dull butter knives and I for one want a quick death. How does people like this suggest we protect ourselves?

First off I hate Rosie.

Secondly, handguns have no purpose other than killing another human. Why would we want that? Why would a civilian need an automatic weapon?

The right to bear arms was enacted during a time when a war might sweep through your town or when a mob of thieves might storm your house and there was no way to contact help. We now have phones and police and good locks for doors. I have read statistics that say that you are more likely to die when you try to defend yourself with a gun than when you give the thief your wallet without threatening them.

My proposal is that guns confiscated during crimes be melted down. We need to stop selling handguns and automatic weapons. The wait time for buying a gun of any kind should be at least a month. With extensive background checks and a psychological profile.

Will this stop crime? No. Will it take a long time to get guns off the street? Oh yeah. Can people still use knives? Yes. But I would rather have a chance when someone attacks with a knife than be dead with a gun.

I have never lived in a rural environment. I don't own a gun. I don't eat meat. I had a very relaxed upbringing. I oppose discrimination of all sorts. I grew up in Hong Kong. I am almost Trilingual. Yet somehow, I've been labelled an uneducated, closed minded, intolerant, racist, red neck who knows nothing of other cultures. It's folly to stereotype anyone due to their political beliefs.

There goes Rosie speaking on topics she has no understanding of. The people need a means to protect themselves, if the government couldn't do it for them that's why that right is there. Rosie is a lost cause.

I'll never understand why any famous celebrity would want a ban on guns when they themselves either carry their own or hire body guards that carry them.

Which indicates they need security (can't fault them for that) but it's very dumb when they want to cut their own throats and they aren't smart enough to realize it.

Want to talk Irony, Rossie is anti-gun but she helped her child's body guard get a concealed weapons permit in California (almost impossible to get).

Rossie and her ilk are the "Do what I say" type of liberal, they don't actually have to live by their own standards, they only want people to obey their commands.

And I agree with you, anything is a weapon if you want it to be. soon they will ban everything, we will be living in protective bubbles strapped down to tables for our own safety. lol

I support the right to bear arms. So, not all liberals think like Rosie. You will find a surprising number that are gun owners and NRA members like myself.

Being educated, monied, and power brokers, many softly tell you to turn in your weapons, or they will have somebody imprison you for challenging their 'god-given authority' to abuse you.

They will call you racist, war monger, homophobic and violent in order to assert dominance and 'superiority'...but never consider themselves offensive and provocative.

They are the 'martyrs of America'.
