87 toyota camry... old one had jiggle valve, replacement doesn't. I'm replacing it this morning, any info would be appreciated.

look to see if there is any small space that could allow air to get by for de-airration. Nearly all manufactures went away from the jiggle pin designs about 5 years ago. guess they got tired of the pins breaking off. as for drilling a hole---hmmmm, interesting--i guess a small 1/16 or 1/24 would work okay. I would think that any design flaw for a 20 year old t-stat design would have already been worked out. I would just install the t-stat without any changes.

You could drill a small hole. The jiggler is uasally for removing air from the system and is located at the top of the T-stat in the installed posistion. A small hole will do nicely approx 1/8 inch

just drill small hole for screw in bolt
