i just reformated my computer and i plugged in my speakers and when i try to listen to some music or watch a movie a message comes up and says (unable to play back audio.no sound device detected on your system the movie will play but you will not hear any sound

You need to reinstall your sound card/integrated audio drivers.

Go to the manufacturer's site for your computor or the sound card and download and install the drivers.

You probably also need to reinstall your video, SATA, modem, Ethernet, wireless, chipset, etc. drivers.

Your sound acrd hasn't installed properly when you reset your system.

Go to "control panel", "system", "hardware" and "device manager" look in the audio section for your sound card - right click and under properties click on update driver. If you are on XP and this doesn't work right click on the sound card and uninstall then reboot and your system should auto install the driver on reboot.

You got a driver disk with the computer, you need to install all the drivers on there before your windows will be fully operational again.

go to your sound properties and check to see if you have the correct device/ firmware setting, also ake sure the mute is not on and theres no irq conflict... * done in system properties hdware... cheers~
ps is the speaker jack in the wrong place? hey laff but it happens, I accidentally pluged my analog into one of my digitals and got some weird results once..
