hmm.. i used to learn that instrument.. it doesnt always sound sad... you can play many peppy tunes..like in titanic there's a dance sequence...
but yea, it mostly sounds sad... it weeps...

I don't think the violin *always* sounds sad, though it *can* sound said. The reason the violin is such an expressive instrument is that it's a "singing" instrument, designed to produce a sound resembling the human voice. If you look at the violin, it even has a human (female) shape. And of course, it was originally designed in Italy, land of opera and dramatic singing!

Yea, i know...it has a very mournful, sad sound...
I'm not sure why, tho....some instruments have certain "moods"....it's strange.
