The use of Bosox and Chisox was a very common way to refer to the Red Sox and White Sox years ago. It fell out of favor during the past 20-30 years and you don't hear it used that much anymore. Thanks for the memories.

If you just said the Sox, that could be the White Sox or the Red Sox...so Bosox differentiates them from the Chisox.

BoSox is an alternative term for the Red Sox, but it's just not used very often like "Boston" or "The Sox" etc. But BoSox is an actual term.

Well...being a Red Sox fan living in Chicago I usually use BoSox, Red Sox, or The Better Sox....Hawk Harrelson calls them The Carmines which I think is retarded because he is the only one I have ever heard call them that and personally I don't like that name...even if carmine does mean red.

You must not live in Red Sox Nation, otherwise your friends would know. Yeah, "Bosox" is common. Personally, I like "Sox" - so when Boston plays Chicago, it's Sox v. White Sox. ;-)

a lot of people have used that for a while but i don't think it really catches on though. i used to say it when i was a little girl, but saying red sox is perfectly fine with me!
in the minor leagues the team is called pawsox!!
