Assume both men and women are Scientists =13
If it takes them seven days to built the big bang theory.

Another crew of 5 Scientists swould have to work faster to come up with the same theory.
So the rate of doing the work would have to be 2.6 times faster.

However if all Scientists from both teams were working at the same rate then it would take the second team more days to create the Big Bang, which is 7x2.6= 18.2 days

If you can assume that men and women are the same, then it's A*B / A+B

13 *5 / 13+5 = 65 / 18 = 3.61 days

If not, I have no idea where to go. Actually, it would stand to reason that since there's 4 men and 9 women, and then 2 men and 3 women (the square roots of the previous numbers), then your answer is probably the square root of 7, or about 2.65.

4 men and 9 women = 13 persons do it in 7 days then
2 men and 3 women = 5 persons (5= 13/2.6) so the time should be longer for the second team by multiplying 7 with 2.6 = 18.2 days.

Impossible to say. Since one woman does all the work, and the others just watch, it could be 7 days both ways.

Or, the 2 & 3 don't know how to do the work, and it takes them forever.

Or, maybe the 4 & 9 were getting in each others way, and the 2 & 3 are more effective. It takes them only 1 day.

2 men can do work in half the time that 4 men can so 7 days divided by 2 = 3.5 days for the men

3 women can do 1/3 of the work that 9 women can do in 7 days so 7 divided by 3 = 2.3

3.5 +2.3 = 5.8 days

You didn't specify who can do the work faster, so all we can do is assume they are equal or start being sexist. If we assume it's equal, then there were originally 91 people-days of work, and 5 people results in 18.2 days. If the men did nothing, then it would be 21 days; if the women did nothing, then it would be 14 days.

in one day,2x men &3xw=5x can do the work
