Achillies the Greek warrior from Homer's Iliad. Achillies was dipped in the waters of immortality; but his mother did not dip his ankle which she was holding on to. Achillies was hit with an arrow in his heel. The achillies tendon is in the heel and if it is cut it will spring up into the leg and it would have to be surgically reattached.

It came from Greek mythology Hector and Achilles. When Achilles was a child, his mother picked him up by the back of the foot and dipped him into some mystical water that was supposed to make him invincible. Unfortunately, she submersed him head down into the water while holding on to his foot and leaving that part submersed. Achilles grew up to be a great warrior in the Greek army, with no one able to defeat him. However, during a great epic battle, Achilles was shot through his Achilles tendon by an arrow and was finally defeated.

The Achilles tendon come from the fact that the mother of Achilles did not wash one of his ankles where the Achilles tendon is located and when the Trojan War occured he was shot in the ankle by an arrow and was killed. You see his mother had bathed him in the River Styx and if she had bathed him completely he would had been immortal.

If I remember my mythology correctly, it was named after the god Achilles. His mother dipped him into something that made him invulnerable. However, she held him by his foot in the area of the tendon. That was the only place that he could be injured.

It came from the Greek Mythology. A hero named Achilles is invurnerable to any weapon, except for his heels which was hit by an arrow and caused his death. when he was just a baby, his mother dipped him in the river Stix which make him invulnerable to any weapon. but unfortunately his mother didn't dipped his heels which she hold on to while she was dipping Achilles on the river.

Yeah, he was dipped in the river Styx by his mother, but she was holding him by the back of his foot, leaving that part of his body unprotected; then he got shot in that spot with an arrow, which killed him.
