Billy Martin didn't have a 200 plus million dollar guaranteed contract..
philandering is okay for an ex-president and spun as source of nobility for his so-called victim wife...who cares who does who?...unless they did Magic Johnson first..

How do you know Steinbrenner tolerates it? It's only recently come out into the open, so Steinbrenner really hasn't had time to react yet. Also, it's not like he could do anything about it at this point. He can't trade A-Rod, as he has a no-trade clause. Cheating is a disgusting thing to do, but there is are no rules in baseball to allow players to be suspended for doing it. Do you think A-Rod is the only player who cheats? It's been going on for over a hundred years now, and you can bet a lot of players are saying "That could have been me", and will be more careful now. Do you remember the Wade Boggs-Margo Adams thing in the late '80s? It's wrong, but when you have guys on the road with lots of money, free time, and no wives present, the temptation will always be there.
The only thing Steinbrenner could do, is that if A-Rod opts out at the end of the year, he decides he doesn't want a player like that on his team.

If that was the case, he'd have to bash half the team in all likelihood. This is an owner who has let active alcoholics- Billy Martin- manage his team. He has allowed all but acknowledged steroid users- Giambi and Sheffield- play every day. He brought back a known psychopath in Roger Clemens- anyone who doesn't think the beanball and bat throw at Mike Piazza wasn't intention must be on Joe Torre's payroll or peyote.
Rodriguez's actions are a mere drop on the bucket compared to the rest of that stuff.

Gees Louise. Steroids, wife beating, street drugs, fan punching, poor play for millions of dollars -- and you want to rag on a guy for going out with a woman? C'mon. No one knows the intimate details, not for sure. Why can't a young man with an athlete's body have a good time? Does everyone have to be dull, odor free, starched, and boring? Get a life!!!

George Steinbrenner doesn't give a rat crap about "Pride of the Yankees". All he cares about is the almighty dollar.

Arod is there to play baseball. What players do off the field is nobodies business. Some major leaguers must have a girl in each city, married or not, it just so happens arod was followed by a cameraman. They crossed the line.

George is A-Rod's boss and not his dad. A-Rod's personal life has nothing to do with the Yankees. The boss is right to leave it alone.

Interesting comment. George is not ragging on Alex like he has done on other players in the past. Maybe he is getting melo in his old age.
I remember he used to make the players cut the hair, shave the face back in the day.
now he is so passive.
