Should boycott all products that are made in China? First, they use ingredients that killed our pets, made a few people sick. Now, they have put something related to antifreeze in toothpaste. What next? I don't think we should have to find out, "what's next."

If we did what you suggest, we would not have anything to buy.

This sort of thing has been going on for ages. You just didn't know about it because China was valued as a source of cheap ingredients. Now the U.S. is worried about China usurping it in industrial capacity. (The invasion of Iraq was about oil -- keeping it from the Chinese. Before Shock and Awe, it was estimated that China would overtake the U.S. industrial capacity within 5 years. That estimate is now 15 years.)

These stories are coming out because it's an effective way of harming China.

But remember U.S. products are only marginally safer. You really don't know what's in most of the things you buy. If you did, you'd be making different choices.
