I'm trying to figure out what is going on here....A lady left a message on my house machine last nite just saying her name and number and that she had sent me a few letters to try to get in touch....I haven't received any letters but she has my name and phone number...she didn't say anything about herself but I found out online that she is a lawyer that works in a law office in Cleveland (I don't know anyone from Cleveland and it is about 2 1/2 hrs away), and I could not find any cases that she was listed on. Anyone know why she would be contacting me?

I thought it may be a scam too but she is a real person from a real law office...?

There are a number of reasons, some good, some bad, some totally unrelated to Law.
She may be looking for an heir of an estate, or a debt you owe, or need a replacement of a document you signed years ago which is now lost, or it could be Amway, or it could be that the two of you have a hobby she wants to ask you about, or she might want your recipe for meat loaf, or she might be a geneologist and think you are related, or you might be a witness to something, or you might have been exposed to something she wants to inform you about.
One thing is for sure, if you were about to be sued, it would be a Process Server looking for you, not a lawyer. Just call her back and settle the mystery.

There are a few reasons that come to mind right off the bat.
1) Collections Agency- even if you pay your bills there are plentfy of cases of ID fraud to go around nowdays
2) Question you about a family member or aquaintance's case
3) To give you untold millions that some long lost relative left you

You for sure have a restraining order against him for a reason. He ought to have placed you in some form of possibility. as long as you have no longer have been given young ones or factors i do no longer see a reason of why you may pick touch with him after each and everything is very final.

She is probably a scam artist trying to get some money out of you.
She'll tell you that you have a great uncle in Cleveland who just died, and if you give her your bank account, she'll put his money into your account. So, you'll give her your bank account number and she'll like totally take all your money.
Be Careful!

Could be a case of mistaken idenity. She may be looking for someone and found you. Call her and get the details. Sounds like u have nothing to hide.'
Let her supply the information she is looking for.

I would call her back but DO NOT give her any personal info. No birthdate, social security number or anything! If she is legit, she already knows all of that.

It's possible there is another person out there with your same exact name and she got the wrong one by leaving it on your machine.
