Any time you start talking to an American, five minutes later, it is: "I love Russia/Russians/ I knew Russians/wen to bed with a Russian/ love Russian woman" and so on.
I was indifferent to that Russia before, now I am starting to hate it.
And even more so, if you try to stop their Russian panegyrics, they start it anew, with more gusto: "How can you? So, you don't love Russians? Russians are..." And they NEVER
stop.
I just do not care.
Why are they obsessed with Russia? And is there a way to shut them up about it (can't stand it anymore).

well, I hear it every day. If they do not like Russia, at least they know someone from there, or their friend does.

Is it because YOU are Russian? I think it's just the people you encounter that are obsessed with Russia/Russians. Because, I only know one guy. Don't get me wrong, Russia is on my list of country's to visit (St. Basil's cathedral is phenomenol.) but I love other places much more.
Maybe American men are obsessed with Russian women. But I know more that are obsessed with Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc.) women.
When someone begins going on about Russia, why do you just ask them nicely to drop the subject or change the sbject yourself?

I have not come across anyone who is obsessed with Russia or Russian people...you must be attracting them!! hehe!

Your question reads like paranoia. I am not obsessed with Russians. I don't know anyone who is. I don't hear of anyone talking about Russians.
