the player in question opened the batting and was not out at the end of the first innings, he feilded through the other teams first and follow-on innings and then opened up for his teams second innings and was not out when the winning run was scored. The player is either English or Australian as they are the only teams who play in the Ashes Test Matches.

Geoff Boycott at Headingley in 1977. He opened the batting and was last out for 191 in England's only innings (the 1st of the match) and Australia were bowled out twice for 103 and 248 to lose by an innings and 85 runs. He was actually the fourth England player to be on the field for an entire completed test match.

The question is not very clear. If you mean the player who was in the field on all 5 days of the test match, there have been 5 batsmen who have batted on all 5 days of test Matches.

Their names are given below:

1) M.L. Jaisimha in India v /s Australia Match at Calcutta in 1959/1960

2) G. Boycott in England v/s Australia Match at Nottingham in 1977

6) A. Flintoff in England v/s India Match at Mohali in 2005/06
